Meet Founder/Chief Consultant –
Ernest Lewis III

Ernest Lewis III is a seasoned nonprofit leader with more than two decades of experience advancing community-centered strategies, institutional growth, and mission-aligned innovation. As Chief Consultant and Founder, he brings a thoughtful blend of executive leadership, fund development, media, literacy, arts administration, and community development to his work. Originally from New Orleans, LA, Ernest has called Houston home for nearly 20 years, where he continues to contribute to systems-level change and regional impact.

Throughout his career, Ernest has held leadership roles in several of Houston and New Orleans’ leading nonprofit organizations—reimagining programs to promote equity, access, and empowerment across diverse communities. He has led the development and implementation of initiatives addressing disaster recovery, youth development, adult and family literacy, senior services, workforce advancement, arts education, and homelessness prevention. His efforts have resulted in the acquisition and management of more than $22 million in private, federal, and public funding across Louisiana, Texas, and New Mexico—supporting sustainable growth and measurable outcomes.

As President and CEO of the Pearland Adult Education Center, Ernest focused on engaging, educating, and empowering adult learners—advancing literacy and employment pathways to strengthen individual and community resilience. Today, he serves as an executive leader at one of Texas’ largest nonprofit organizations, where he oversees agency-wide strategy, public funding, sustainability planning, partnerships, and systems alignment.

Ernest holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in business, providing a strong foundation in strategic planning, financial management, and organizational leadership. His commitment to service extends beyond his professional roles: he is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum (Class XL), past Board President of Literacy Texas, past Board Member of the Pearland Leadership Foundation, and a Member of the Texas Workforce Commission Adult Education & Literacy Advisory Committee.

Ernest remains dedicated to advancing inclusive, community-driven solutions—leveraging his experience and values to support meaningful change across the nonprofit sector.
